Just Like the Good Old Days!

Before they capped Tanker agro... you could do this:

There's MORE than 17 enemies on me.
It brings back memories of the good old days *longing sigh*
This is in the AE, but you can probably do it in-game with the right conditions.
It's pretty specific too, but I'm not going to tell you how it's done.
=D

Screenshots! Version: PWN'd

So after taking some screenshots for the Anwyn post, I realized that I had a bunch of other screenshots that I had meant to post up, but totally forgot about it. So here it is, my adventures in Paragon/Rogue Isles:

Tropica PWNs Romulus and gets the MoITF badge at level 48.

Zetsumei in her first Hammy Raid ever! PWNing the Monsters and getting those EoEs!

Zetsumei PWNs Hammy.

Then she PWNs the Hydra Head in the Abandoned Sewers Trial.

Lastly, Zetsumei PWNs zombies... and got a couple of badges!

Meanwhile.....

Ms Ann gets PWN'd by this guy in the Cathedral of Pain Trial.

Master of Badges

So I got a bunch of new Master badges on my Badgers last week. Here's my count so far:

Ms Ann has the following: MoSTF, MoITF, MoLGTF (new!) and needs the Mo5CTF, Mo5CSF, and the MoLRSF. The masters in Kahn TF (5CTF) is pretty easy as well as the LRSF (all you need is a Mind Dom!). This makes getting the masters in the Barracuda SF (5CSF) the toughest. The spawns at the end is no fun..

Zetsumei has the following: MoITF, Mo5CTF (new!) and needs the Mo's in LGTF, STF, LRSF, and 5CSF. I am not too worried about getting *everything* for Zet, but I won't say no to attempting master runs with her if I know the group is good.

This is not counting the other master badges I have on my other characters when helping a friend.

In my opinion, the ITF, 5CTF, and LRSF are the easier ones if you have the right people and certain ATs/Powersets. The LGTF has the Hammy mission which requires planning and team coordination, the STF has the big 4 that will require lotsa debuffs and proper pulling, and the 5CSF/Cuda has that massive 20 minute Council ambush at the end which can get very messy.

I think I need to read up some more on tips to get through the Mo Barracuda SF successfully.

Got Reported on Zazzle

You see the Zazzle panel on the right? Yeah, I thought it would be fun to make a bunch of COH/COV related t-shirts. Hell, I spent about 4 hours on Photoshop re-creating that stupid super boost icon after playing as my Kinetics defender and getting spammed by my own teammates. I know other Kin players should be able to relate. I also made a bunch of other icons too, but those probably aren't going to be put up anymore, at least not to the public (just me and close friends).

The shop has been up for almost 3 months now. I rarely get any hits (woohoo 49 hits after 3 months!). I haven't sold a thing. It's not like going to make big bucks from COH and live off of it. Its just a bunch of dumb t-shirts I wanted to make for fun mostly for myself to attend PAX with and if other people liked them, then thats cool.

So I got reported and got yelled at by Zazzle. I explained my case and I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Maybe they won't shut down the account. If they don't like the images, I will just comply and take it down. Then I'll just do what everyone else does and write a bunch of text on the t-shirts.

Omg, thats like, so hard to do!

Just ranting a bit. Going to take a nap now.

UPDATE: They ended up just wiping everything in the store... even the stuff that was not immediately based off COH like the "Say no to supradine" shirt (like you had to play the game to get it). Ah well, I guess I'll just put only text on the shirts like that other guy if I ever make them again.

Anwyn, Willpower and Energy Melee Tanker

Hello, meet Anwyn. She's from the same world as Theophelia, my Grav/Kin Controller (note to self, need to change her name to Theofina one day). I really need to write up their story. They're elfen folk who came to this world via Portal Corp. What we know as magic is considered science in their world. Our scientific world is considered magic to them. I sort of got that idea from Tad Willaim's book, the War of the Flowers.

Anyways, shes at level 23 now and I would like to get her to lvl 50 by November. Hopefully the Halloween event comes early this year. Trick or Treating is pretty much a quick and easy way to powerlevel yourself up.

So far, with only generic IOs, she tanks well for her level, as expected of Willpower (one of the two "Tanking for Dummies" sets, Stone being the other). I wish I had picked Fire Melee instead so soloing would be easier and more fun, but Energy Melee is ok. It's big on huge single target attacks and stuns.

Ninja Run!

As for her build.. I don't want to spend a lot of Inf on her, considering that I likely will not play her much after 50. No money, means no soft capped defenses. So I'm going to try to get as much defense for her as possible -within reason. So here are the visuals:

Defenses: Not too bad considering considering budget constraints.

Picture of the power selection and slotting:

So with all the Numina's and LoTG, its looking pretty damn expensive, but I do make about 800 merits from normal TFing and do end with about 100 million inf by the time I get to level 50, so that should help cover the more expensive IOs. Oh, and its a good thing prices are dropping too.

For the power selection, I was kind of torn between Energy Transfer vs Total Focus. It's still up in the air at this time since I'm going to test them both out later before respecing to the final build and slotting her up.

You might also notice that I have... 4 attacks (2 single target, 1 aoe, 1 pbaoe) and 1 hold. Thats because I had to make some sacrifices to get Fireball from the Fire Mastery EPP. What can I say, I like AoEs.

The build's not set in stone. I'll probably make a few more tweaks on it before she hits 47 and I start shopping for her.

Last but not least, here's everything in text courtesy of Mid's:

Tropica Reaches Level 50!

I was soloing her running tip missions on the +0/x8 setting and tah dah, level 50! This makes it Tanker #5 that got to level 50 on the Tanker Project. I really *enjoy* playing Tropica so she's definitely not going to be shelved like most of the other Tanks (aside from my main) because her AoE is just freaking awesome. She'll be one of the toons that I'll be using to power level my brother or my own characters. I am kind of regretting just giving her a cheapo build as opposed to going all out and softcapping her defenses. I am probably going to revisit her build when Health and Stamina goes inherent in the next issue.

#1: Ms Ann  (Inv/BA)
#2: Annzilla (Stone/Fire)
#3: IceMinx (Ice/Ice)
#4: Paradoxic (DA/DM)
#5: Tropica (Fire/Fire)

5 down, 3 more to go! The next Tank on the list to be leveled up will be Anwyn, my WP/NRG tank... she is already lvl 23. I was thinking of leveling up NeoGeode next, but I am in the process of leveling up 2 Shield Defense toons (Zazza, Brute and Infernadoll, Scrapper), so I figured I should level up something that I am not familiar with, which is both Willpower and Energy Melee. I think shes going to be one of the tanks that will be shelved upon level 50, so she's probably going to be slotted on the cheap.

All these Tanks are making me poor =/

Tropica: Fiery Aura & Fire Melee Tanker

So with Tropica nearing level 50 (she is level 45 right now), I am at that point where I have the most fun with my characters, namely slotting them out to be awesome.

For Tropica, my Fire/Fire Tank, I've decided to slot her out cheaply, with a 100 million influence or less budget. This budget doesn't include all the IOs I already have saved up (like the LOTG global recharges... I have about 10 of them sitting around) or the IOs that I will be purchasing with merits, like the Numina's Unique, so this isn't really a 100 million influence budget for everyone.. it's is Ann's 100 million influence budget.

Tropica is a pure Fire/Fire Tank with no Epics selected. I was thinking about trying to stick in Pyre Mastery for the holds, melt armor, and the fire blast, but who am I kidding? She has more than enough AoE damage in a single attack cycle and I'm not planning on solo-ing AVs or going +4x8 on her or anything. This is a comfortable build for comfortable play, nothing hardcore.

Here's how she plays: She jumps in the middle of a group, clicks Build Up, Fire Sword Circle, Burn, Cumbustion, (repeat if its on +2), and then the single attacks to mop up whatever is left or taunt to pull aggro away from teammates. Including the fighting pool and the leadership pool into her build just helps increase her survivability when she's all pyro maniac like that.

Here's what the slotting looks like in Mid's:

I decided to do it cheaply because I am planning to blow the bank on my Elec/SD Brute instead, who I will cover in a later post.

My primary goal during the slotting process was to beef up as much defense on Tropica as possible while keeping her an AoE heavy, team friendly toon. I'll probably be doing a bit of farming on her, but nothing nothing too crazy. Here are her bonuses:

+4% DamageBuff
+16.4% Defense(Smashing/Lethal)
+6.75% Defense(Fire/Cold)
+8% Defense(Energy/Negative)
+3% Defense(Psionic)
+13.9% Defense(Melee)
+5.5% Defense(Ranged)
+10.5% Defense(AoE)
+22.5% Enhancement(RechargeTime)
+9% Enhancement(Heal)
+9% Enhancement(Accuracy)
+5% Travel
+154.6 HP (8.25%) HitPoints
+Knockback (Mag -4)
+Knockup (Mag -4)
+MezResist(Confused) 9.15%
+MezResist(Held) 7.5%
+MezResist(Immobilize) 16.3%
+MezResist(Sleep) 12.5%
+MezResist(Stun) 12.5%
+MezResist(Terrorized) 7.5%
+8% (0.13 End/sec) Recovery
+78% (6.1 HP/sec) Regeneration
+2.84% Resistance(Fire/Cold)
+1.26% Resistance(Energy/Negative)
+3% Resistance(Psionic)
+5% RunSpeed

I know, the ACC and Recharge bonus sucks, but like I said, I don't intend to play her on +4x8, but rather at +1x8 and comfortably so.

Here's what her survivability looks like with all the proper toggles and inherents up. She's not soft capped in any sort of defense, but I did try to get it as high as possible without breaking the bank.

|-------------------------------------------------------------------|

Fire tankers are relatively squishy compared to other tanker primaries. Proper health management is critical (to not suck) during the leveling process. Starting out, I felt like Tropica played very similarly to my Dark Armor Tank, Paradoxic, because heals were clicked strategically and not just do it willy nilly for the +health (like other sets) because it had none!

Otherwise, Paradoxic's mitigation are the status effect toggles, that include a bit of everything: disorient, fear, damage, and -tohit. Tropica's mitigation is just a whole lot of damage, so the enemies dropped fast. And because of that, Tropica just felt more fun to play. Its like I'm playing my Fire/Energey Blaster, Combustidoll (in case you're wondering, I changed her build again..), but Rise of the Phoenix is not a part of my attack chain! Whooohooo!

Anyways, I know Tropica's build not the greatest build in the world, but the powers picked and the IOs slotted fits my playstyle and my budget so I'm pretty happy with it.

EDIT: Turns out this is more like a 300 million inf budget (not including all of the IOs and salvage I already have). I didn't realize that some of the sets I thought were "cheap" had shot way up in the BIN (Buy it Now) price. And sadly, many of the IOs I've been hoarding has deflated in value, likely due to the new alignment merit system and the ease of buying the higher end IOs. Such is the will of the market, as annoying as it is! One good thing though, the LOTG global recharges are still at a steady value of about 150 million, its probably going to hover around there or get a bit (or much) higher once the incarnate system hits.

Anyways, I guess I'm not going to be able to slot Tropica out as quickly as I'd like, but she will get there eventually.

Also, because I was asked about this, I believe this build is at the very least a 1 billion inf build (or more) if you buy *everything* at Buy it Now prices. But as always, be patient, bid smart, and it can cost a whole lot less than 1 billion.

Tropica, How Inappropriate

So the next character in the Tanker Project is Tropica, my Fire/Fire Tank. She very recently got to level 45.  I am really liking how she is maturing with her powers and (basic) slotting.

The changes to Burn makes this set even more awesome and I can really see her being one wicked AoE monster with proper slotting. So right now, I'm debating whether or not I should just slot her with a 100 million influence budget or go all out...

The problem is... I am planning on going all out slotting Zazza, a Elec/SD Brute who will be the AoE Farming toon, but now I'm really tempted to slot out Tropica. hmmm decisions, decisions.

Maybe I'll post up a couple of builds later.

With that, I leave you with a picture of Tropica's doppelganger in a very inappropriate position.

AFK From Blog

Why? Because Going Rogue launched and I've been busy with it.

I am really enjoying the Praetoria content, but its a shame that its only up to level 20 and you can't get back to Praetoria once you leave. Hopefully they will change that.

So there's lots of new things going on, I've made a few new characters, and I've been taking lots of screenshots. Expect more updates soon!
